We're busy stocking up for you!
We're on the home stretch for the holiday season now, and all the designers at Fresh Collective have been busy little bees making the most gorgeous fashions, jewellery, accessories and kids stuff so you can have all your gift shopping done early and with no stress! You know you'll find just that right thing, whether for your special someone, or your secret santa person at work. We have lots and lots of options under $30, under $50 and then those special gifts, like gorgeous jewellery, handmade sweaters, cute clothes for kids (lots of sizes in stock!) and lots more! Maybe an art print by Utility Grade would be just the right thing, or a crystal necklace by Electric Lollipop. How about a mohair cardigan by Fresh Baked Goods, or a funky upcycled shrug by Paper People Clothing? We have funky kids tees and hoodies by Rock and Rattle and Bun, and baby slings by Mobile Mommy. We have hundreds of pairs of earrings- each one different! Or maybe a funky domino pendant by Odd Bird.... with 20 local designers making unique handmade stuff, your main problem will be staying focussed on gifts when you'll want to shop for yourself!
Whirl Girl Skirts
Welcome to our newest line Whirl Girl! These skirts are so great I have two already! They come in boiled wool or polar fleece (with 30% bamboo content) for coziness, and they have unique waistbands made from repurposed vintage fabrics. I've been wearing mine almost non-stop since I got them! They're perfect and easy, but look really stylish, whether over tights, leggings or yoga pants! Check out the website at www.whirlgirl.ca for more info, and come into Fresh Collective today to get one (some are even on sale now!!)
Fabulous handmade jewellery
Bow, wow, WOW!
We noticed a theme of cute dog themed stuff in the shop: necklaces, tops, and more, so we made a special window for all the dog lovers out there. It was a good excuse to make some new dog stuff too, so Utility Grade made a new top with a greyhound on it, and Fresh Baked Goods whipped up some super cute dresses with an appliqued dog silhouette, plus Margie jewellery made up some of her metal necklaces with cutout silhouettes with dogs.... so if you love dogs as much as we do, stop in and see our fabulous fashions, jewellery and more with great dog images!

Fabulous Fall Outfits at Fresh Collective
We have a great selection of fall dresses, skirts, sweaters, tops and shrugs, and all the jewellery and accessories you need to complete the look. Come on in to see us Monday- Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 12-6 at 692 Queen Street West! We are a designer-run collective which means members share the expenses of the shop, and the work (by each taking a shift in the shop). This means we can offer gorgeous, handmade one-of-a-kind (or very few of a kind) fashions, jewellery, accessories and kid's stuff. We hope to see you in the shop soon!
Embody Sweaters
Mandala Designs
Cropped crazy sweaters and cozy hoodies...
.... from Fresh Baked Goods! We have lots of new sweaters in the shop. I can't keep up adding them to the site... too busy knitting! So for the time being you'll have to come in the shop to get the full selection! (Hopefully I can take a break from knitting soon to get some of those new styles posted on www.freshbakedgoods.com.)

Fabulous Fashions for Fall
Here's just a tiny peek at what's in our window. On the left is a Paper People sweater dress, on the right a Momiji bubble skirt and reversible jacket by Embody. We have new, fabulous stuff arriving daily as all the designers sew, knit, silkscreen and make jewellery like mad! We have more than just clothes too, of course. Bags, wallets, purses and belts, as well as jewellery of all kinds and kids stuff galore!
All you need is love, and....
Zombie Bag by Cipolla
Pop culture jewellery
Story Beads necklaces and collars
A truly unique line of jewellery, designer Leslie Jones makes great resin jewellery, and layers it with lace and sheer fabric collars. Each piece you see here is sold seperately, so you can layer, or unlayer as you like. My favorites are the resin barbie photos, made from pictures she takes herself of her vintage doll collection.
Reversible Jacket from Embody
Charmed I'm sure!
Organic Cotton Wrap Tops from Paper People Clothing
Here's a lovely wrap top by Paper People Clothing. Designer Jennifer Fukushima has made this style is several colors (including a beautiful dark fushia) with various silkscreen prints. The fabrics are so soft and drapey, this top could be warn pretty dressy, but since it's so comfy, it'll be a favorite with jeans too. Three fabric choices, all environmentally friendly! Hemp, organic cotton and bamboo jersey.
Birdie necklace
Birds seem to be more popular than ever, and if you love birds and owls as much as we do, come on in to see our great selection of unique and fun jewellery and accessories with not only birdie themes, but dogs, cats, wildlife and all kinds of other animals. This necklace is by Margie Jewellery, our newest member.

Earrings! My favorite way to feel cute....
I love fall!
We had lots of fun putting together our fall window, and choosing the lovely earthy toned things to feature in it. Here's are tops by Utility Grade and Fresh Baked Goods, a wallet by Cipolla, a necklace by Designs by Peeno, and a scattering of buttons by Space Cat! You'll have fun pokng through our shop and seeing the amazing assortment of fabulous handmade items from Toronto's most talented desigers (if we do say so ourselves;) )
Romantic Necklaces
So pretty and romantic looking, Buttercup Days jewellery is so gorgeous, it's no wonder it's been popular at Fresh Collective ever since we opened our doors in 2003. Each necklace is one-of-a-kind, and designer Clare Raman uses vintage charms that are very limited in number and hard to find, and mixes them with new beads and findings to create a style all her own. It's a style all your own, too, since no piece is ever repeated!
For all you Buttercup Days fans....
Gorgeous new fall arrivals daily!
The designers at Fresh Collective each make their own line, and bring in their stuff as it's ready, so everyday new gorgeous items are showing up for Fall. Here's an example of gorgeous new tops from Fresh Baked Goods! We have lots in printed corduroys, and beautiful Japanese cotton prints like this one. And just look how well our lines coordinate! All this Buttercup Days jewellery goes beautifully with the colors of the fabrics we're using.

Can you believe it's our five year anniversary this year? We decided to celebrate with a bit of a facelift, sprucing up the outside of the shop and repainting and fixing up inside. I just signed the lease for another five years, so we'll be around bringing you the work of Toronto's most talented local designers for years to come, and helping to launch the careers of a lot more up and comers! Did you know close to 10 former members have gone on to open their own stores, in Toronto and elsewhere? Being part of Fresh Collective is a great way to build your business, develop your client base, grow your product range and work on your branding, all while learning what it takes to make a business and a store work. Working one day a week in the shop allows the designers access to their customers. It's invaluable market research to see what people are buying and why, and to be able to respond to that in what new products you design. As well, working only one day a week in the shop allows us all time to work in our studios, to raise families and to work part-time jobs. I love my store and the designers I work with! It's such an energizing, creative environment! If you're a designer, come on in and talk to us about joining our group. We always welcome new members, and love to see what people are making!
We just had so many dresses this summer, we had to feature a bunch of them in the window. The theme is "Dress me up..... and take me anywhere" which is perfect since we have dresses for lunch with the girls, for dates, for picnics, and for summer weddings. Come in and try on some of our perfect dresses and you'll have a hard time deciding! If the fit isn't quite right, we'll alter it to make it just perfect for you!
The Odd Bird line is famous for quirky prints on domino pendants, and now designer Tara Campbell is printing some of her most popular images on fabrics. She has a nest of baby birds with their beaks pointed up for food on baby bibs, a few different bird images on tee shirts and now a break from the bird theme with this dancing bear on a tee shirt dress. We completed the look with a fabric belt from Mandala, and a necklace from Buttercup Days.
At Fresh Collective, you'll find the best mix of unique pieces anywhere in Toronto. And we can help you put together a great outfit that fits your style. Our lines all mix and match so you can out together an outfit like this with a necklace from Precious Pink, a summer tie around top by Fresh Baked Goods, and a miniskirt by Momiji.
The famous Candi Factory undies are among our top sellers. So many people buy one pair, and come back in a few days for several more! It's funny how our customers love to sing the praises of these undies! "They're so comfortable!" "I want to wear them every day!" "I do my laundry even when I don't really need to, just so I can get all my favourite undies back in circulation!" We love to hear how much you love our undies!!!
Buttercup Days is a jewellery line that's been with us since the beginning. Designer Clare Raman was one of those brave souls who signed on to join the store while it was just a pile of dust! We operate as a collective, meaning designers sign up to pay a monthly rent on their space and work one day a week in the store, and we're always welcoming new members. The top shown here is by Momiji, a spankin' new line that's going to rock Toronto's fashion scene.
This jacket is by Momiji, a brand new Toronto label that you are going to looooovvvve! This young design team is one to watch. Janine and Yoko are the people behind Momiji, and their clothes are so creative and gorgeous. They use very limited amounts of unusual fabrics, and put a lot of thought into the details, like these unique vintage buttons. And just look how lovely this jacket looks with this necklace by Buttercup Days. So perfect!
This is just one of the many Fresh Baked Goods summer dresses now in stock at the shop! Polka dots aren't for you? We have birds, flowers, ice cream cones, and lots more! And topping off this dress is a knitted shrug (also FBG) and a pressed flower pendant by one of our newest lines, Designs by Peeno. (Yes, it is a real pressed flower!)
